Welcome to Ripple Counselling.

A ripple is made from a single drop falling from the sky, a tree or a rooftop.  Once it lands it has an effect whether in water or on cement. Landing in water can be beautiful.  The ripples can go on forever sometimes.  A drop landing on cement splashes but has no ripple effect, it lands and dries up.  In both those scenarios there are meanings and undercurrents going on.  Would you like to be the drop that has the power to change your life? Are you feeling down, burnt out and need to get things off your chest?

Be your own ripple.....

Life can sometimes get difficult.  We can feel lost, confused, down, angry or frustrated.  We ask "Whats wrong with me?", "Where is this all coming from?".  Taking the first step and trying anything new can be hard.  Sometimes we can be afraid of what we might find.  Sitting with a therapist who is objective, really listens, is non-judgemental and walks with you side by side through this sometimes tough and enlightening journey can help.

"Where there is a sense of warmth yet room for saddness, where there is empathy yet room for responsibility, where there is listening yet room for opinions, where there are defences yet room for openess, where there is darkness yet room for light."

Nicola Hogan MIACP

About me-

I have studied Counselling and Psychotherapy from 2010-2015 in PCI College and Middlesex University, where I received a BSc (Hons) degree.  I am a fully accredited member of the Irish Association of Counselling & Psychotherapy (IACP).  I have three+ years experience in working with clients (18+) with issues such as depression, anxiety, obsessive compulsive disorder, bereavement, sexual abuse + historical abuse, relationship/marital breakdown, bullying and trauma.

How I work-

I work as a humanistic therapist and integrate other theories in my work, such as, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Reality/Choice theory, Kleinian/Psychoanalysis.  I have also used art and dreamwork in the room (only if you the client is comfortable with that).  The environment I try to create in a therapy session is relaxed, warm, open, reflective, honest, non-judgemental and real compassion for the client.

Cost-

Standard Session: €60

Unemployed/Student/OAP:  €30

Please Note-

Sessions last for 50 minutes. If you have to cancel a session 24 hours notice is required or full fee is payable. If you miss or cancel a session half the fee is required to cover the cost of room rentals and other expenses.  It is recommended to come to therapy on a regular basis as to not disrupt the flow of work, for that reason sessions are on a weekly basis.  Confidentiality is very important, however in some cases I am legally and ethically obliged to report if a client threatens to harm themselves, minors, or others and if said client knows of somebody else harming same.  I also discuss clients with a supervisor and a peer supervison group. Clients identity always witheld.  Your privacy is of utmost importance. The first session will mainly be an assessment of your needs and to see if we can work together.  It is very important that you feel comfortable with your therapist.  I look forward to hearing from you.
